An old "sea chest"? Found treasure?

I salvaged the original paper covered wood from the inner top and the top tray.

The top tray lifts out.

Under the top tray is more storage.

The bottom wood was also salvaged from the original.

The two bottom trays and the side runners that they sit on were not part of the original trunk.

All trays removed.

The trunk and all trays.
I DO realize that if I ever filled this trunk with tools, I would need help lifting it!
